​ What's a Double-Hung Window?

Double-hung windows have two sashes in a single frame, with both sashes able to slide up or down independently to provide ventilation and tilt-in for easy cleaning. Double-hung window sashes remain flush with the wall while the window is open. This makes them a great choice for walls next to patios, decks and walkways.

​ What's the Difference Between Single- and Double-Hung Windows?

A single-hung window has a fixed top window. Only the bottom window sash slides up or down. If you live in a dusty area, an area prone to precipitation or have a second story, then double-hung windows are ideal since they're much easier to clean.
