1920's BUNGALOW WITH NEW WINDOWS & SIDING

This home located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin has recently installed new Stanek vinyl replacement double-hung windows and Reynolds Polar vinyl siding. The home is a 1920's Milwaukee Bungalow, which was in dire need of some repair.

Stanek started by removing the old aluminum siding and replacing with high-efficiency Reynolds vinyl siding with a contoured backer board. These products give the walls on the home an added R-4 insulation rating and limits air infiltration. Stanek then proceeded to wrap all the windows, soffit and fascia, posts, doors, and rear awning with a PVC coated aluminum alloy. This ensured the entire home is maintenance free.

Next, Stanek Windows custom made double-hung windows for most of the openings. By being custom-made windows, Stanek was able to save the customers interior woodwork and install the windows from the outside. The window weight pocket cavities were insulated, as was around the entire frame of the window. The window color is cherry/white, which perfectly matched the existing wood trim. This color is a vinyl veneer and will never need refinishing and will not deteriorate like many wood windows will. There were two kitchen windows which were in the way of the new kitchen cabinets the homeowner wanted to install. Stanek was able to help out by raising the height of the openings and thus having the new countertop and cabinet boxes fit right in.

For added energy efficiency, the customer chose Stanek’a triple glazed System 9 Heat Mirror® glass. This glass system is one of the most efficient on the market with an overall U-Value rating of a .19. This window also has the highest structural rating out of any vinyl window on the market with a design pressure score of a 70. This is achieved with special reinforcements called FiberMax® which run along all four sash rails of each piece of glass. This reinforcement also gives a place to mount the locking mechanisms for added security and a tighter seal. Stanek Windows also feature full screens to ventilate from the top and bottom of the window. All Stanek windows are ENERGY STAR rated and meet the guidelines for the energy tax credit.
