New Stanek Window and Vinyl Siding

New Stanek Sliding Window and Vinyl Siding Give Waukesha Home a Facelift

STANEK WINDOWS FEATURED PROJECT – APRIL 2015

This 16-year-old home in Waukesha, Wis., had wood windows that were beyond repair. The customer was experiencing fogging in the glass which was a clear sign of a seal failure. The window sashes would fall off track when the window was opened completely, and the crank handles were coming loose. Worst of all, the sashes were so rotted that the entire glass units dropped 2 inches and were taped to keep them from falling on someone’s head from the second floor.

To address these issues, the homeowner contacted Great Day Improvements™. Great Day is the exclusive manufacturer of Stanek Windows, a brand of vinyl replacement windows. After consulting with Dwight Zoellner, a Stanek Windows design consultant, the homeowner decided to switch it up a bit and changed from a two-lite casement window to a two-lite vinyl sliding window. This allowed more light into the home and helped to save on cost. The medium oak interior woodgrain matched perfectly with the existing woodwork and the beige exterior complemented the new vinyl siding that Stanek installed. The triple-pane ComfortGard® Xtreme glass in the window has a U factor rating of a .18 that exceeds Energy Star requirements and qualified for a tax credit. The vinyl replacement window also features patented Fibermax™ reinforcement to help prevent warping and sagging for long-term performance. A full screen allows versatility, maximum air flow, and a complete seal around the perimeter keeping any creepy crawly bugs out.

Dwight Zoellner, the Stanek Windows design consultant, also found a solution to the homeowner’s siding issues. The old siding was 6-inch cedar that was peeling and showing some signs of rot. Dwight recommended a 6-inch vinyl that matched the size of the old cedar boards, was insulated, and, best of all, is maintenance free. Besides the siding, new soffit/fascia and gutters were part of the package.

The homeowner couldn’t be happier with Great Day’s products, installation, and Dwight Zoellner.
